Can we talk about how everyone blames the loud neighbor for everything?

My street had a huge noise issue last night, and three people instantly blamed the guy in the blue house. I checked, and his truck was gone the whole time. It was actually a delivery van with a busted muffler idling for 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a neighbor get blamed for stuff they didn't even do?

Happens all the time, people just pick a scapegoat and stick with it lol.

Ever see that happen to a friend? My buddy got blamed for a smashed mailbox for months. Turns out it was a newspaper delivery car hitting it on tight turns. Like iris574 said, people just pick a scapegoat. They only apologized after someone caught it on a doorbell cam.

My old apartment complex had three different tenants blamed for a dent in the garage door. The security footage finally showed it was the maintenance golf cart. People just decide who fits the story.
