inFound out my habit tracker was actually making me anxious
Wait, you mean tracking stuff can actually backfire like that? I never thought of it that way before.

inOverheard a dad at the park tell his kid that "winning isn't everything" but then coached him differently
Right. Because my toddler definitely doesn't repeat anything I say in the car when I'm stuck in traffic. She just happens to be an expert on the qualifications of the driver in front of us. My personal favorite is when she told the grocery store cashier that his job looked "really boring." Kids are basically tiny, unstoppable recording devices with no filter and zero sense of timing. So yeah, that study probably nailed it.

inSwitched from wire rope to chain on my ladder dredge
Grade 70 chain is way tougher for rocky bottoms, no contest. Wire rope kinks drive me crazy, especially when it's cold and stiff. The chain just lays down flat and doesn't bind up like cable does. You'll save money in the long run not having to swap it out every few months. What size chain did you end up going with?

inLost a whole client after a cheap PSU killed their motherboard last Tuesday
Oh man, that's rough but I've been there too haven't we all? I built a budget rig for a friend last year and grabbed one of those cheap $30 power supplies from a brand I'd never heard of. Three weeks later their PC just wouldn't turn on, and when I opened it up the PSU had leaked some kind of goo all over the inside of the case. Fried the motherboard and the hard drive too. Now I only use EVGA or Corsair even for budget builds, their cheaper units like the CX series are still solid and don't cost much more than the junk ones. You really can't skimp on the part that can destroy everything else.

inOld timer told me to never use a wire brush on hot steel, I didn't listen and ruined a 12-inch damascus billet.
So did you ever go back and thank that old guy? I bet he saved you from way worse than one wire in the thumb.
