Just realized I've been saying my dog's name wrong for 3 years and the vet finally corrected me
I named my dog Ladybird about 3 years ago because I thought it sounded classy and southern. For the whole time I've been calling her "Lady Bird" like two separate words, which my neighbors in Nashville probably thought was weird but never said anything. Last week at her yearly checkup the vet tech goes "oh, like the flower?" and I just stared at her. Turns out Ladybird is one word and it's a type of beetle, not some fancy southern belle thing. I felt so dumb standing there holding a leash that literally has LADY BIRD stitched on it. Now I'm wondering if I should just change it to Birdie and start fresh. Does anyone else have a pet name they later found out meant something totally different?
