Just realized naming my cat Mr. Socks was actually a curse
I used to laugh at people naming pets after obvious stuff, but then my vet in Austin told me she sees 12 Mr. Socks a month, and now I get it. It's not just boring, it's confusing at clinics and parks, especially when three cats with the same name show up. I renamed my tabby to Pancake after a week of mix-ups, and suddenly she answers better. Anyone else regret a lazy name choice that seemed cute at the time?
We have two cats named Luna and honestly the vet thing never bothered me much, they just go by our last name in the system anyway. My kids picked the names and the cats come running either way, so a boring name did not seem worth losing sleep over. Pancake is cute though, not knocking that.
