Hot take: the $4 gas station coffee in my town beats the $7 latte shop, and I only learned it after my card got declined
Stopped at the Speedway on Main last Tuesday when my card was frozen and all I had was a fiver in the cupholder. That burnt-just-enough cup got me through a double shift better than the fancy place two blocks over. Am I broken, or is gas station coffee just slept on?

That "burnt-just-enough" line is spot on, and my buddy Dave swears the same thing about the Circle K near his place. His card died on a road trip and the $2 cup he grabbed on a whim somehow beat every fancy shop he tried that week. I still pay too much for lattes, but I stopped arguing with him about it.
