My uncle's butter knife tip ruined my entire knife set
Last Thanksgiving my uncle saw me reaching for a paring knife to open a stubborn pickle jar lid. He goes, 'just use a butter knife, it works every time' and I laughed at him. Three weeks later my $80 knife set has two chipped blades because I tried his 'technique' on everything. The butter knife was for the lid seal, not for prying open a frozen paint can. Has anyone else been led astray by a confident relative?
