Tried a straight razor shave on myself for the first time in 15 years... nicked my jawline bad
Haven't used a straight razor since barber school back in 2009. Been all clippers and trimmers since. Last week my clipper broke mid haircut so I grabbed my old straight razor to finish up. Thought I still had the touch. Nope. Cut myself twice on my own jaw, bled through a towel. Client just stared at me. Learned that muscle memory fades way harder than I thought. Anyone else try going back to something they haven't done in years and eat it?

Man, that's rough but I kinda get it now. Always thought razors were just something you pick back up naturally, like riding a bike. But after letting my old tools sit for years and trying to freehand a line up on myself a few months back, I looked like I got in a fight with a cheese grater. Really changed my mind about how much that daily practice matters, even for small stuff like that.

Wait, @the_thomas, have you ever tried stropping an old blade before giving up on it?
