Swapped to a Park Tool truing stand after using a cheap one for 5 years
I was over at Mike's shop last Saturday and he let me use his TS-4 on a wobbly wheel I'd been fighting with. That thing picked up a 0.5mm wobble I couldn't even feel on my old stand, and it made me realize I've been guessing on tension all this time. Has anyone else noticed a big difference upgrading their truing stand?

Yeah I was the same way until I borrowed a friend's nicer stand and it totally changed my mind.

Agree with you @lunakim - I remember reading a guitar forum post where someone said they noticed way better control and less wobble with a heavier stand, even on the same pedal setup. Made me think twice about my own cheap one.

A nicer stand won't totally change the mechanics of a pedal or pickup, it just feels more solid under your feet. Real improvement comes from the gear on top of it.
