I swore I'd never watch a medical drama again, but one scene in a Baltimore ER changed my mind

I was stuck at my aunt's place in Denver last month with a busted ankle, and she had 'The Resident' on. There's this bit where a doctor has to make a call with zero backup, and the camera just stays on his face. It felt so real, not like the usual soapy stuff. Anyone else get pulled into a genre they thought they hated by a single moment like that?

Honestly, that exact scene felt super staged to me. It just confirmed why I avoid those shows.

Totally get that, it had that weird fake energy where everyone's reactions were just a bit too perfect. Watched one last year where a couple "randomly" ran into their ex at the same tiny coffee shop, like come on. Feels more like bad acting than real life anymore.
