My contempt for period romance miniseries evaporated during a power outage
I used to dismiss them as predictable fluff unworthy of a binge, but with no internet and a borrowed tablet, I reluctantly started 'Bridgerton'. The sheer audacity of the anachronisms and drama somehow glued me to the screen, and I devoured it all in two days.

Heard my friend scoff at period pieces until a blackout forced her to watch 'Bridgerton' and she became OBSESSED.

Oh wow, that's so relatable... I used to dismiss period dramas as overly prim and boring, until I got sucked into a marathon of "Downton Abbey" during naptime. Before I knew it, I was secretly ranking Austen adaptations and debating costume accuracy with strangers online... Now I've seen every season of "The Crown" and own a embarrassing number of historical fiction novels. I went from skeptic to full-on enthusiast without even realizing it... guess I'm proof that a little forced viewing can change everything.

Hold on, did you say NAPTIME? That is genuinely UNBELIEVABLE to me because naptime is sacred for sleeping, not for diving into Downton Abbey. I can't fathom having the mental energy to follow intricate plots when I'm supposed to be dozing off. It just shows how ADDICTIVE those period dramas can be, hooking you when you least expect it. My brain would be mush if I tried to process corset dramas during a nap. You must have some superhuman focus to transition from skeptic to enthusiast in that state.
