That guy in the front row was right about the 10 episode limit
Back around 2018 I was all about those 20 episode seasons on network TV. My buddy from work kept saying the shorter 10 episode format was better because writers had to cut the filler. I told him he was crazy. Then I finally watched The Sinner and got through the whole first season in one weekend. Every scene mattered. No random side plot about a coworker's divorce. I still watch longer shows sometimes but now I get why he pushed for it. Anyone else flip their stance on season length after one good limited series?
Streaming changed the math on this too. Networks needed 20 plus episodes to fill ad slots for months. But once people started binging, a tight 10 episode season keeps you subscribed longer than a bloated one you give up on halfway through. The filler was never for us, it was for the schedule.
