Warning: stop letting the 'just one more episode' trick run your whole night
I started The Bear on a Tuesday around 9pm telling myself I'd watch one episode and be in bed by 10. Next thing I know it's 3:40am and I'm on episode 6 with a half eaten bowl of cereal going soggy next to me. The thing nobody warns you about is how these 30 minute episodes sneak up on you, they don't feel like a full hour so your brain keeps saying oh that was quick, one more won't hurt. I did this three nights straight and by Friday I was useless at work, forgot a dentist appointment in Wilmette and my wife was not happy. What finally broke the spell was setting a hard limit of two episodes and putting the remote across the room so I actually had to get up. If you're the type who binges an entire season in one sitting like I did with Severance in January, you already know the crash the next morning is brutal. So my question is, what's your cutoff rule and does it actually work, or do you just give up and accept the 4am regret?
