Figured out a cheap workaround for my phone dying in the cold
Last month in Chicago, my phone kept shutting down at 30% battery during my morning walk to the train. I tried keeping it in my inner jacket pocket, but it still died. Then I wrapped it in a hand warmer packet inside a sock, and it stayed on for the whole 20 minute walk. Has anyone else found a simple fix for cold weather battery drain?

Wait, isn't it funny how our first instinct is to outsmart technology with the most primitive stuff we can find? I feel like half my life now is just coming up with hacks like this because nothing is built to actually work in the real world anymore.
