Just realized my phone alarm failed at a motel in Flagstaff and I almost missed a job interview
I was in Flagstaff last Tuesday for a job interview at 8am, staying at this cheap motel off Route 66. I set my alarm for 6:15 on my phone like always and plugged it in on the nightstand. Woke up at 7:40 in a panic because the alarm never went off. Turns out the outlet by the bed was loose and the charger only worked if you wiggled it just right, so the phone died overnight. I barely made it to the interview with wet hair and no breakfast. The weird part is I blamed my phone at first, but really I should have checked if the outlet was actually charging it before I fell asleep. Now I always bring a little travel clock and test the outlet with the phone screen on. Has anyone else had a hotel outlet screw them over like this, or am I the only one who trusts random bedside outlets too much?
