The moment I realized I was the 'okay boomer' all along
I used to roll my eyes at my dad for printing out directions to places we'd been a hundred times. Last week I caught myself printing a map to a grocery store I've shopped at for 15 years because my phone died mid-route. It hit me that I've been doing this whole resistance-to-change thing without even noticing. My nephew laughed and said I'm turning into grandpa, which stung because he's not wrong. I grew up on Mixtapes and CD-Rs, so I thought I was the adaptable generation. But here I am, angry that the new checkout machines at the 7-Eleven on Broadway keep asking if I want a receipt. Is this just how every generation ends up, or are we actually worse at admitting we've gotten old?
