Update: I laughed at the solar panel guy in Tempe, now I'm the one eating crow
He knocked on my door in June pushing a lease deal and I basically shut it in his face. Then my August electric bill hit $287, up from $140 last year. I called the same company, got a 5kW system put on my roof 3 weeks ago. My last bill dropped to $73, and I can't even believe I waited this long. Anyone else have a utility turning point where you finally caved to the pitch?

Admit it, we all hate being wrong, but that $214 swing makes it way easier to swallow. I did the same thing with a water softener guy years ago, laughed him off my porch, then spent a whole weekend scrubbing mineral spots off everything. Your bill drop is honestly the kind of thing that makes me want to call the next door-to-door person just to hear them out. Don't beat yourself up, you fixed it faster than most people ever do.
