Hit my 50th rental application rejection and honestly, I'm glad my parents never helped me
Everyone in this group seems to blame mom and dad for making them too soft or too dependent, but mine did the opposite. They refused to cosign on anything after I turned 20, so I learned to file my own taxes and fix my credit in Tulsa on my own. That 50th rejection in 2023 stung, but it forced me to write better cover letters and negotiate rent, skills their hovering never could have taught me. Anyone else feel like their parents' neglect actually built them up instead of breaking them down?
