I finally bought a magnetic drill press and it was worth every penny

I was always drilling holes by hand with a template for base plates and it took forever. Dropped $350 on a Hougen mag drill from a pawn shop in Gary last month and it cuts through steel like butter. No more wandering bits or busted knuckles from the bit grabbing. Has anyone else made the switch and felt stupid for waiting so long?

Had my mag drill kick on while i was leaning on it too hard. Scared me half to death but man those things are game changers for sure.

Dude it just clicked on for a second, not like it flew off the beam and hit you. I've had mine kick on while I was adjusting it and honestly the only thing that happened was I jumped a little and laughed it off. You make it sound like you almost died when really it was just a loud noise and a surprise.
