Book club in my old neighborhood swapped the format, felt weird
I went back to my hometown library in Columbus last month and sat in on the book club I used to be in back in 2009. Instead of everyone arguing about the characters, they now pull quotes from the book and vote on them with little clicker things. At the end nobody even asked the big 'did you like it or hate it' question, so has anyone else seen clubs lose that messy back and forth that made it fun?
Isn't the clicker thing just a different kind of fun though? I get missing the messy arguments, but some people hated being put on the spot with the "did you like it" question. Maybe the new way lets the quiet folks actually say something for once.
