Our club split over reading the book before the meeting vs. after, and the before crowd won by a mile
So our little book club of 9 people in Fresno tried something different for our June pick. Usually we all read the book first and then talk about it, but this time 4 of us showed up having only read the first 40 pages, just to see how it went. The weird thing is the discussion was actually better because nobody had pre-formed opinions yet, and we spent 2 hours on chapter 3 alone. The people who finished early kept spoiling stuff though, which got messy. Has anyone else tried reading together in chunks instead of everyone finishing first?
