The chapter-switching trick that saved my book club
My book club kept getting stuck on long novels, nobody finished them. I tried using a specific page number as a checkpoint, like stopping at page 100 each week. It worked better than any deadline we tried before. Now we actually finish books and have stuff to debate. Has anyone else tried breaking a book into fixed chunks like that?

Did you try splitting the book into actual chapters instead of just page numbers? That way you get natural stopping points with built-in cliffhangers, which makes the debates way more fun since everyone ends on a different moment.

Page numbers work fine. Cliffs ruin pacing and force artificial breaks.

NPR had a segment on this, @ryanburns - chapters make group reads flow way better.
