The mail carrier had a tip for my rose bushes
He saw my roses looking a bit wilted and suggested a homemade remedy. It worked well, and now we talk plants when he delivers mail. Do you get gardening advice from unexpected people?

Ugh, random tips often do more harm than good (seriously).

Seriously though, they also ruin trust in actual experts. People get burned by bad advice then ignore the good stuff later. It creates a whole mess of doubt.
