My cousin said his old Ford truck is 'part of the family' at a cookout yesterday
He's spent over 8 grand keeping it running, which seems wild until you realize he trusts it more than any new model. Does anyone else have a piece of gear they're weirdly loyal to, even when it costs more to keep?

Man, that's nothing. My uncle still uses the same fishing rod he bought in '92. The thing is basically duct tape and hope now.

So has he ever actually caught anything with it, or is it just a good luck charm at this point? I feel like gear that old either works perfectly or fails at the worst time. There's no way the reel still runs smooth. That's the kind of thing you keep using just to see how long it'll last.
