Sat in my barber's chair for 40 minutes and watched his loyalty turn from Wahl to some brand I never heard of
My barber Marcus has used the same cordless clippers for as long as I've been going to him, about 9 years now at his shop off 5th. Last Saturday he pulls out this new set from a brand called StyleCraft and tells me he made the switch 6 months ago. He said his old ones started pulling hair on the tight fades and he was losing guys who noticed the difference. The thing that got me is he didn't shop around on price, he just asked 3 other barbers at a convention in Dallas what they used and bought the same ones. So here's what I don't get, is switching brands after almost a decade normal for you guys or does it take something actually breaking first? He still uses the same razor brand from 2010 though and swears he'll never touch anything else, so I guess loyalty isn't one thing.
