I finally gave up on pre-soaking bricks for interior walls.

The mortar sets faster and the bond is stronger when they're dry, why do we still soak them?

Honestly, half the stuff in construction is just because 'that's how we've always done it.' Soaking bricks might've made sense for cheap, crumbly ones back in the day. Now with better materials, it's probably overkill.

Wow, you're right. Dry ones pull moisture from the mortar too fast.
