My uncle taught me masonry and it took me almost a full year to get a simple herringbone pattern right without gaps. You just have to keep laying bricks, pulling them apart, and trying again. That feeling when it finally clicks and everything sits flush is unbeatable. Six months on corbel work is serious dedication, man.
