I finally switched from a wood handle to a rubber grip trowel for long mortar mixing

After 8 hours on a commercial wall in Phoenix last summer, my forearm was cramping so bad I couldn't grip my trowel right. I swapped to a rubber-handled Marshalltown mid-job and the vibration dampening saved my wrist for the rest of the week. Anyone else made this switch and noticed a real difference on big pours or am I just getting old?

I picked up a rubber handled trowel after a 12 hour foundation pour outside Tucson. The day hit 107 and the steel handle felt like a branding iron by noon. The rubber didn't just help with vibration, it actually stopped the handle from cooking my hand. Plus that grip lets me get a solid hold even when my palms are sweaty from the heat. Did you notice any difference in how your elbow felt the next day?

The rubber handled trowel cooking your hand" is a real problem I've had too. @the_evan I switched to rubber handles a few years back and never looked back. My elbow definitely feels less beat up the next day compared to the steel ones.
