Yeah, I read something once about ground spices losing their punch way before they actually go bad. Makes sense to keep the older ones upfront so they get used while they still have some flavor left.

Sorting spices by their dates creates more trouble than it's worth. In the middle of cooking, I'm not going to hunt for the oldest jar first. Putting common spices front and center makes way more sense for my routine.
