My $20 blow up mattress deflated at 2am in a Budapest hostel and I woke up on the floor

Was in Budapest last month for a 4 day trip and figured I'd save money by sleeping on one of those cheap air mattresses I found online. First night was fine. Second night around 2am I hear this slow hissing sound and wake up with my back flat against the cold tile floor. Roommates didn't even stir. Ended up just throwing my sleeping bag on the floor for the rest of the trip. Has anyone else had a budget sleep setup totally betray them mid trip?

Wait, he didn't even wake up when you hit the floor? That's a special kind of deep sleeper right there. Sounds like you got the full Budapest experience just with a sore back instead of a river cruise.

Is it just me or are some people basically in a coma once they hit the pillow? My brother slept through a fire alarm once, actually had to call his apartment from outside to wake him up. Feels like the deeper they sleep the more committed they are to staying put no matter what.
