My carry-on only rule for a two-week trip caused a silly clothes problem in Berlin.
I stuffed everything into one small bag to dodge checked luggage costs on a budget airline. Halfway through, I had to wear tourist socks with sandals because all my stuff was dirty, and it became a running joke with my friends. Would you ever try a no-suitcase trip to save some cash?

How hard did your friends roast you for the sock and sandals look? I'm totally team carry-on only but learned the hard way that "two weeks worth of clothes" in one bag is a lie. Last summer I wore the same jeans for like five days straight and had to buy a truly ugly souvenir shirt from a gift shop just to have something clean. The money I saved on baggage fees just went to panic-buying basics. Still worth it to skip the baggage carousel chaos though.

Yeah rolling everything tight is the only way I can make it work. I wear my jacket and bulkier shoes on the plane too, frees up so much space in the bag.
