Paid $40 for a bus ride or walked 3 miles in Atlanta, guess which one I regret
Last month I had to pick between a $40 ride to the airport or hoofing it with my suitcase through downtown Atlanta in 90 degree heat. I chose the walk to save cash and my backpack straps gave out halfway, so I carried a 25 pound bag on one shoulder like a weirdo. Anyone else ever try the cheap route and end up paying for it twice over?
I did the same thing in Chicago last summer with a 30 pound duffel and got blisters so bad I couldn't walk right for a week. What saved me was checking the hotel shuttle schedule the next time, since most places near the airport run a free one every 30 minutes. Took me two painful trips to learn that trick, but now I always call ahead before I book anything.
