Rant: Paid way too much for a taxi from the airport, never again

I landed in a new place and the cab ride drained my cash. A friendly local pointed me to a cheap bus that goes downtown. Now I always look up bus or train routes before I fly anywhere. It cuts costs big time and lets me see the city like a resident. I even found a free shuttle that nobody talks about online.

A free shuttle nobody talks about online. That is shocking to me. Taxis at airports are such a scam. I got charged eighty dollars for a short ride once. Always checking for buses now, like you said.

But what if the shuttle takes forever and you're stuck waiting with all your bags? I mean taxis are right there when you land, no hunting for a bus stop. Sometimes you just need to get out fast, like if you had a long flight. Maybe @julia_lee's driver saw she was in a hurry and that's part of the cost. Paying more can be worth it to just get to your bed, you know?

Felt that. I'm pretty sure that cab driver thought my luggage was filled with gold bars. Almost needed a second mortgage.
