My clippers died mid-fade on a paying client Saturday

Wait what, actually caught fire while you were using it? That's terrifying, I can't imagine having flames near my neck like that. Did it just spark up suddenly or did you smell something weird first? I've had trimmers get hot before but nothing close to actual fire happening.

Had a week where every single fridge I touched had a dead compressor

Used to roll my eyes when guys talked about "bad batches" of parts... thought it was just an excuse to explain bad luck or something. But after seeing three identical failures in one week on fridges that were totally different ages and models, I started wondering too. Then my supplier actually confirmed there was a factory defect in certain compressor runs from that summer, so yeah, you really can get that wave effect. Kinda changed my whole view on the "coincidence" thing, not gonna lie.

Panel swap took me 8 hours but brought ADT system up to code

That whole "do it right or do it twice" thing applies to way more than electrical work. I spent an afternoon last year putting together a cheap bookshelf from the hardware store, skipped tightening a few screws because I was in a hurry, and three months later the whole thing collapsed and broke a lamp I actually liked. Had to buy a nicer bookshelf and spend another afternoon fixing it properly.

Unpopular opinion: The 'five second rule' is actually pretty solid science, not just a gross excuse.

That Rutgers study you mentioned is actually why I stopped being so strict about it! I read somewhere that moisture content is really the deciding factor since bacteria basically needs wet surfaces to travel. So I'm with you totally - dry crackers on my tile floor are fair game, but anything sticky or wet goes straight to the trash.
