TIL that those overnight bus rides in Europe are actually a decent way to save cash
I was planning a trip to Prague and really didn't want to pay for a hostel for a night. A friend told me to just book a 9 hour bus from Berlin instead. I was sure it would be awful, but I got a seat for 22 euros and slept way more than I thought. It saved me a full night's lodging and got me there by morning. Has anyone else found a good overnight route they'd recommend?

I mean, that's a pretty rough way to save 50 bucks. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather pay for a bed.

Yeah, my buddy tried that from Paris to Barcelona and said it was the most cramped night of his life. He spent the whole next day in a cafe just trying to feel human again. Is saving that hostel money really worth being a zombie for 24 hours? I guess if you can actually sleep anywhere it works, but man, that's a big gamble.
