Budget app crashed mid-month and I almost panicked, then found my old spreadsheet

Last Tuesday I was at a coffee shop in Denver logging groceries and the app just wiped my whole month of data. I sat there for 10 minutes trying to remember what I spent, then opened a Google Sheet I'd saved from January and rebuilt the tracking in an hour. Has anyone else had to fall back on pen and paper after a tech fail, or am I the only one still keeping a backup?

Funny timing, my banking app did the same thing back in March. Wiped two weeks of transactions right before rent was due. Dug out an old envelope system I used in college, wrote everything down for a few days, and honestly it felt kinda good. Still keep a paper ledger in my car now, just in case the phone dies again.
