Can we talk about the bullet journal display at the Seattle library

I saw their community showcase and every single spread was a perfect, colorful work of art. It made me feel like my messy, functional notebook wasn't 'good enough' for the hobby. Does anyone else get intimidated by the super artistic journals out there?

What's the point of your notebook if it already works for you? I feel like those displays can make a tool seem like a performance. My own pages are just quick lists and messy notes.

I used to feel the same way about my plain notebooks. Then I saw a display at our local library where someone had included a page with coffee stains and crossed-out lists. The note said "real planning is messy." That really stuck with me.
