Showerthought: I tracked every task for 8 months, then quit cold turkey and went back to a plain notebook
I started bullet journaling in 2021 because everyone online swore the system would fix my scattered brain, and for about 8 months I logged every single task and habit in a dotted Leuchtturm, spending 20 minutes every Sunday on migration alone. Then one week in March I forgot my journal at my shop and just used a cheap spiral notebook from the drugstore, and I finished more actual work than I had in months. The truth nobody wants to admit is that the fancy system was the hobby, not the work, and I was addicted to the ritual of it. I still keep one now, but there's no tracker, no color coding, no future log, just a running list I cross off with a pen. Does anyone else feel like the setup takes more time than the tasks, or is it just me?
