Switched my daily log to time blocks after 4 months of chaos

Honestly, I was a diehard Ryder Carroll purist until my buddy Seth basically yelled at me over coffee about how my rapid logging was useless for tracking work tasks. He showed me his weekly layout where he assigns every task a time slot, and I fought it for weeks because it felt too rigid. Three weeks in and I'm actually finishing lists instead of just writing them, but does anyone else find time blocking falls apart when you have a spontaneous meeting day? How do you handle the overflow without ditching the whole spread?

Ditch the time blocks the moment a meeting shifts, because the system already failed you by pretending your day was predictable. Spontaneous interruptions are the norm in most jobs, so building a plan that can't absorb them just sets you up for that same overwhelmed feeling you had with rapid logging. Keep the weekly layout but leave every afternoon blank for the chaos, then you get the structure without the illusion.
