Why I ditched new notebooks for scrap paper in my bullet journal

I always bought fresh dot grid notebooks for my bullet journal without a second thought. They were neat and easy to find. Then I read an article about how much waste comes from paper production. It made me look at the half-used notepads lying around my house. I started cutting those pages down to journal size and drawing my own dots. It's not as quick as buying one, but it feels good to reuse paper. My journal now has a cool, mixed look with different colors and textures. I save money and cut down on trash, which is a win for me and the planet.

Read a study last year saying recycled paper cuts energy use by almost half.

That claim about recycled paper cutting energy use by half. Makes me ask which energy use. Is it just for paper mills or the whole supply chain? Also, was the study peer-reviewed? I've seen similar studies overlook transport costs. So the real savings could be different.
