Guy behind me at a stoplight said my bumper sticker was wrong and he was right
I had this sticker on my car that said 'My kid is an honor student at Oak Ridge Elementary.' Some dude in a beat up Ford F-150 pulled up next to me at a red light on Main Street last Tuesday and yelled out his window that my sticker was outdated since my kid was now in middle school. I laughed it off at first but then I thought about it. He had a point. It was kinda weird bragging about my kid from three years ago. So I peeled it off that weekend and put on one that says 'Proud parent of a band kid who practices at 7am' instead. That one feels more real and it actually matches what we're dealing with now. Anyone else ever get called out by a stranger for having a stale bumper sticker?

Huh, I never really thought about bumper stickers being "stale" but you're totally right. I used to roll my eyes at people who said stuff like that, thinking it was just petty complaining. But I had a "My kid is on the honor roll" sticker from like two years ago and a neighbor pointed out my kid was in high school not elementary anymore. It was a wake up call. Now I just have a plain "My other car is a minivan" sticker and it's honestly more honest about my life anyway.

My neighbor had a "Baby on Board" sticker from 2004 still on her minivan. Her kid was driving himself to college by then. Did you just throw the old ones in the trash or actually peel them off? I bet that honor roll sticker left some sticky residue.
