Just found out I've buried over 500 feet of Romex in one house

I was wiring up a basement remodel in a split level outside Denver and kept pulling wire for what felt like forever. Had to run 12 circuits through the floor joists and then down into the crawl space for the new family room. At the end of the day I added up all the runs on my spool and realized I had used over 500 feet just for that one job. Has anyone else added up their total wire for a single house and been surprised?

Over 500 feet of Romex in one house" damn that's wild. Was that all for the basement or did the main floors eat up some of that too?

Oh man, I gotta disagree a bit. That's honestly not that crazy for a whole house if you're doing it right. You'd be surprised how fast it adds up with general lighting, outlets, appliances, and all the little runs between floors.

Read somewhere electricians count on about 200 feet per floor.
