PSA: I swore by my old cable stapler until a job in a Phoenix attic changed my mind.
Was running a new line in a tight space, maybe 110 degrees up there. The staple didn't set right and nicked the jacket. Didn't see it until I was testing at the box and got a weak signal. Had to trace it back and re-run about 15 feet of cable. Anyone else have a go-to tool that let them down?

Man, that's the worst. Been there with a bad staple in a hot crawl space, total nightmare.

Yeah, I always thought staples were fine until a mess like simona77's.

My uncle's a contractor and he told me last week he's seen three staple gun fails this summer. That heat really does a number on the plastic and your aim, like simona77 said. I'm just using clips now for any attic work.
