Rats in the alley behind our spot near Echo Park, now all deliveries go through the front door

Our dumpster area was clean, I swear. But last Tuesday at 3am I walked out back after closing and saw at least 8 rats running along the fence line. One got into a bag of coffee chaff we had set out for composting. The health inspector came Friday for a routine check and spotted droppings near the back door. They didn't shut us down, but gave us a 48 hour notice to fix the perimeter. We moved everything to a locked bin out front, added snap traps along the wall, and now I won't let any vendor drop off through the back. Has anyone else had luck with those sonic repellers or is it all snake oil?

At least the rats are getting extra fiber with that coffee chaff, sounds like a balanced diet lol. Sonic repellers just taught mine to vibe to the frequency, so good luck with that one.
