Switched our cafe's playlist from random pop to local jazz artists and saw a 15% jump in afternoon sales over three weeks.

Noticed the same chill effect at my gym with different music.

That local jazz artist switch is a great idea. We tried something similar with acoustic folk music during our lunch rush. People stayed longer and ordered extra coffee, just a more relaxed vibe that seemed to encourage hanging out.

You know, you're so right about that relaxed vibe thing. We swapped in some mellow 60s soul during our afternoon slump (like, the slower stuff, Sam Cooke and whatnot), and people just stopped rushing through their sandwiches. I swear I saw a few folks nursing one cup of coffee for over an hour, just chatting and actually enjoying the music instead of staring at their phones. It's wild how a simple change like that can completely shift the whole energy of a space.
