Tried Nespresso pods against my La Marzocco for a month straight

I got lazy with dialing in espresso and ran pods through a Nespresso machine for 30 days at my cafe in Silver Lake. Loyal customers started complaining the shots tasted flat and I lost about 20% of my morning regulars. Has anyone else tested super automatic machines against manual setups and seen a real drop in repeat business?

Buddy of mine lost half his regulars doing the same thing at his joint.

Was this a sudden change or did he introduce it gradually? I've seen places try to flip their whole menu overnight and it never ends well. Did he at least keep a few of the old favorites on there as a compromise?
