The thrift store down my street just banned camera donations, and it's wrong.
Honestly, I saw them turn away a box of old SLRs last week. Tbh, their manager said they don't sell so they won't take them. Ngl, this mindset is bad for repair work. We should be fixing these cameras, not throwing them out. It makes our job harder and wastes good gear.

Plus, it sends the message that old tech is worthless trash.

Ugh, that's SO short-sighted of them! Those old cameras are GOLD for people who fix stuff. When they refuse donations, they're just sending working parts to the landfill. It's not just about selling, it's about keeping tech alive. Repair shops NEED those donors to keep old gear running. Plus, it teaches people to throw things away instead of fixing them. We should be pushing for MORE reuse, not less.

Hey @the_troy, what's the real reason places won't take old tech donations? It feels like they don't get how much repair shops rely on those parts, lol. That mindset just makes it easier to trash stuff instead of fixing it.
