Hot take: I thought disposable camp gear was no big deal.

Helping with a site cleanup changed my view. Now I'm all in on reusable everything.

Seeing that mess up close probably changed how you see all disposable stuff. It's not just about camping gear but every quick use item adding to the problem. Choosing reusables is a solid way to cut down on trash and keep nature clean.

Reusables really do make a difference (once you see the mess, anyway).

The EPA says landfills take up over 1,700 square miles. All that reusable gear needs hot water and strong soap to clean, which just moves the waste problem from land to water. Manufacturing a metal bottle uses way more energy than making a thousand plastic ones. Sometimes the greenest choice is the lightest one that gets used once and buried properly.
