inUnpopular opinion: The fancy dip at the potluck was just meh.
What is it with spinach artichoke dip always getting a free pass? I had the same thing happen at my friend's barbecue last month. Someone brought this huge bread bowl full of it, and everyone went wild. I took a bite and it was just warm mayo and stringy cheese. The bread got all soggy too. I never get why people make a big deal over it.

inHot take: I thought disposable camp gear was no big deal.
Seeing that mess up close probably changed how you see all disposable stuff. It's not just about camping gear but every quick use item adding to the problem. Choosing reusables is a solid way to cut down on trash and keep nature clean.

inSnagged a vintage suitcase from a thrift shop in New Orleans
Were they Mardi Gras beads? I read that some people in New Orleans have whole closets full of beads from past parades. That's a cool surprise to find.

inBacktracking at sunset because my guide omitted a key detail
Yeah, that moment when you're staring at a washed-out trail with a five-year-old book in your hand is a special kind of dread. Got caught like that once up in the North Cascades, trusting a faded forest service map instead of checking online. Ended up backtracking three miles in the dark, the whole woods getting that weirdly quiet, spooky feel. Now I'm obsessive about cross-referencing at least two recent sources, like AllTrails comments and the ranger's recorded line, which is a total pain but absolutely worth the five minutes.

inRed light trick for stargazing that changed my backyard astronomy game
Andromeda going from a guess to a sure thing? That's INSANE. I can't believe you were stumbling in the dark for so long, that sounds MISERABLE.
