Snagged a vintage suitcase from a thrift shop in New Orleans

I thought it was empty when I bought it. Now I have enough beads for a lifetime of parties.

Whoa, that's wild. I saw a doc saying they actually have too many Mardi Gras beads now, so @willowp39's closet example might be part of the problem.

Remember thinking those leftover beads were just harmless souvenirs. I visited after Mardi Gras once and saw the piles in the gutters, just plastic mountains. Changed my mind completely seeing that. It's not just a closet full, it's a whole city buried in trash that doesn't go away. Makes you see it as a real waste problem, not a fun tradition.

Were they Mardi Gras beads? I read that some people in New Orleans have whole closets full of beads from past parades. That's a cool surprise to find.
