Using party crowds as my last furniture check

A guest spotted a shake I missed. Now I always do a crowd test before calling it done.

Calling it a crowd test seems a bit much. How often does furniture actually fail that?

My buddy Rob bought a cheap office chair that literally snapped in half when he leaned back to stretch. The whole base just gave out (he's not a big guy either) and he ended up with a nasty bruise on his elbow from hitting the floor. He had to buy a whole new chair the next day.

Totally feel you on that. Crowd tests are a lifesaver. Furniture gives out all the time under normal use. Like that chair story, it's scary how flimsy some stuff is. A little shake now means big trouble later. Your check catches what we all miss alone. Smart move.
